On Saturday, September 20th, our community came together in a powerful show of support, compassion, and celebration at the Grand Parade — and what a day it was! Thanks to the incredible generosity and spirit of our participants, sponsors, volunteers, and staff, we raised over $23,000 to support vital programs at Home & Community Support Services of Grey-Bruce (HCSS).

This year marked a special milestone: for the first time, HCSS walked in the Grand Parade, and we did so proudly in the parking lot of Heritage Place Shopping Centre, our main sponsor and gracious host. Their support helped create a welcoming and accessible space for all to gather, walk, and connect.

The Impact: Supporting Seniors and Adults with Disabilities

The funds raised through the Grand Parade will directly support older adults and adults living with disabilities across Grey-Bruce. These dollars help provide accessible transportation, hot meals, friendly visits, and essential home care services — all of which promote independence, dignity, and connection.

Whether it’s a ride to a medical appointment, a warm meal delivered with a smile, or a volunteer offering companionship, your support ensures that our clients continue to live well at home and stay connected to their communities.

Your contributions helped us turn a community walk into a movement of care and impact.

To our volunteers, who gave their time and energy to make the day run smoothly — thank you. To our staff, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and walked alongside our clients — thank you. And to our clients and community members, who showed up with joy, resilience, and heart — thank you.

The Grand Parade was more than a fundraiser; it was a celebration of connection, dignity, and the power of community. We are deeply grateful to everyone who walked with us, donated, cheered us on, and helped spread the word.

Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate Grey-Bruce.
