What is HCSS?

HCSS stands for Home and Community Support Services of Grey-Bruce. As a non-profit organization we provide home support services to seniors and adults with disabilities in the Grey-Bruce region.

What services does HCSS offer?

HCSS offers a range of services including transportation, meals on wheels, housekeeping, friendly visiting, adult day programs and housekeeping for seniors and adults living with a disability.

How do I register for HCSS services including meals on wheels, adult day programs, friendly visiting, transportation services, overnight respite and housekeeping?

If you are new to HCSS and would like access to one or more of services, you can register by calling the central intake office at 1-833-659-5491.

How much do HCSS services cost?

The cost varies depending on the service and the client’s financial situation. HCSS offers subsidies and financial assistance to those who qualify. You can find a general price list for services here.

Where are Day Away programs located?

Day Away programs provide socialization, recreation, caregiver relief and medical monitoring for people who need additional support (physical and cognitive) to socialize outside the home. Programs are located throughout the Grey-Bruce region. Locations include:

How can I volunteer with HCSS?

How can I donate to HCSS?

Donating is easy and tax-deductible! Simply visit our donation page at:  https://hcssgreybruce.com/donatenow/ and fill in your details. 100% of your donation will stay in Grey Bruce and assist those in need!

What is the minimum notice required to book a trip with HCSS transportation services? 

HCSS requires a minimum of two business days’ notice to book a trip.

What are the hours of operation for HCSS transportation services?

HCSS transportation services are available Monday to Saturday from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. Exceptions can be made if a medical or dialysis appointment can only be accommodated on Sunday.

There is usually a cost to HCSS services, but they are greatly reduced because of government support, donations we receive, and other subsidies. The price can vary depending on the service and the client’s financial situation and offers financial assistance to those who qualify.

Does HCSS make a profit?

HCSS is a non-profit, charitable organization. Any excess funds generated by service fees, donations or other financial sources are put back into programs to support seniors and adults living with a disability.
